Hey all,

So I'm looking to get a reverb pedal for ambientey stuff, and due to trading a pedal in with a specific company I have a choice of two:

Neunaber Wet Reverb Mono (reverb only) or EQD Dispatch Master (delay/reverb).

Any thoughts between these two?? I already have a delay on the board, so I guess the question is, for ambient music, would a more controllable reverb be best, or a less controllable reverb with the option of 2 delays???

Currently utterly on the fence, so any opinions welcome :)

You may have seen it, but I reckon this guy shows it off nicely (from around the 2:05 point). There's no other reverb with a decay quite like it...I tried the stereo btw, and there's little/no difference from the mono. Not worth the extra £££ anyway! :)

Neunaber fo' sho'. Only reverb pedal I've ever seriously gassed for!

The stereo version has uploadable patches and has the best shimmer mode I've ever heard, and you can also upload chorus or delay patches: http://neunaber.net/pages/pedal-customizer-software

I believe you can also put a different patch in the left and right channels and use an A/B box to switch between them too.

For straight up reverb/delay on bass though, I think a high pass filter is essential to stop the low end getting too muddy. The EHX Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai can combine reverb and delay with such as filter, but of course it's much bigger than the others. Other reverbs I know of that have such a filter are the IE Nimbus and the Strymon Bluesky.

Make the request to the Neunaber dude though, and I'm sure he could come up with some patches tweaked for bass!

Ah yes, just to clarify I meant little/no difference on the standard reverb between stereo/mono! Dannybuoy's right though, If you want these other little bits, you can only get them on the stereo model. Personally never been a fan of shimmer though and have chorus and delay, so it never bothered me! ;) ...

yeah, watched that demo again yesterday, plus listened to his band's new album on bandcamp (the sound of rescue) - awesome stuff :)

I have only ever used the EQD and moved it on. Its great but as you know I think the dispatch master does the simpler things better. The Wet sounds amazing on demos tho and doesn't seem to get as muddy as quickly as EQD with bass.
