GreeneKing
I've just taken this East U retro out of my ACG Salace (having replaced it with an East made ACG filter pre). It has a non switchable passive tone fitted so it's not strictly speaking a U Retro Deluxe but it's part way there (the Deluxe has active/passive switching on the passive tone control). I've decided to re-use the knobs in the photo and I've re-priced the pre to reflect this. It is 3 EQ with a treble boost and sweepable mids, a very worthwhile feature imo. Guest
Hi Pete, do you know if this will work with the passive tone removed ? Also, Is it soldered in or on a block connector ? I've been thinking about fitting a U-retro in my Thumb but don't want to add any holes, ie, the Thumb has 3 controls. I've read that you would normally tuck the switch in the cavity and leave it there when fitting one of these a Thumb. If it will then please put my name on it. Cheers for now bud, Pete. GreeneKing
Pete, I can't pm on my phone for some reason. I am the numpty. I would have liked to have put this in my 90 NT thumb myself but with it being 4 knob I decided to sell it. But, the passive tone is just an add on wired into the pup inputs. So I can use it in my thumb and get sweepable mids! Your post made me realise the obvious and I'll need to cancel the sale and keep it. Humble apologies.
