That's the way the Stick bass comes strung as standard. Since it has adjustable bridge, nut and truss rod, it can be easily restrung to any tuning.
I suggest also posting the add on www.stickist.com , if you haven't done that already.

I'm pretty sure they string them correctly in the factory, take a closer look at the lowest string and the way it's wound on ;)

Lovely instruments, wish I had the cash spare.

That's the way you string them, with the string on the outside of the tuner.

It is odd I agree, and the tuners still work the right way even though the string is on the other way around.

Actually the highest string does seem to be wound the wrong way ;)
The tuners for the strings on the sides of the board are reversed, so that you tune in the same direction for all the strings.
