No but I have tried to put the butter into the dish washer.

Haha! That's probably gonna be my next effort.

There is a saying (think it was that Dawkins bloke but don't let that influence you) that goes, "you can believe whatever you like but the truth is still the truth". Anything you do to the supply to your amp makes no difference - there's regulating and smoothing components in the power supply which are specifically designed to produce the correct voltages and quality of DC that is needed for the amplifier circuits. And that's that.

Similarly, the only thing speaker cables need to do is to carry the current with minimal resistance over the required distance. Cheap 13A mains flex almost certainly matches that criteria too. The beer, grease and other crud on the connectors will more than undo any difference paying massive sums for silver speaker cable. Similarly, the ropey 60-year old wiring in the venue your playing in is going to be your power problem if anything is. And even that is pretty unlikely to make any difference to the sound - it either works or it doesn't.

“As many truths as men. Occasionally, I glimpse a truer Truth, hiding in imperfect simulacrums of itself, but as I approach, it bestirs itself & moves deeper into the thorny swamp of dissent.” David Mitchell

The thing with 'science' is that even that keeps changing, and contains many anomalies. Anyone ever tried a piezo pickup (impedance a few Megohms) into an unbuffered amp input, which is expecting an impedance of a few thousand Ohms? According to science it's wrong, and should cause problems. My own experience is that sometimes it works fine, sometimes not. If it sounds the way you want to sound, just relax!

I poured orange juice on my cereal once.

I went through a phase of using OJ instead of milk on cereals about 20 years back, tasted great!

Making coffee while watching telly, I have repeatedly put the remote in the fridge, and milk in the cupboard. So annoyed when I wanted to change the channel with the stiring spoon!

I peed in the sink once. I was very drunk at the time. It had washing-up in it.
During a sales conference a friend of mine went back to his (shared) hotel room, very, very drunk. During the night he awoke with a straining bladder. Thusly he got up, opened the wardrobe door, lifted the lid of his suitcase, peed in it and went back to bed.

In the morning he went to dress and discovered his urine-soaked clothes. Flying into a terrible rage, he demanded his room-mate tell him who had committed this vile act.

'You did', says the room mate. ' I woke up and watched you do it.'

That story could make one hell of a Fairy Liquid advert .

When I was a student in halls of residence a German hippy girl peed in a sink with a room full of people for an audience because she couldn't be bothered to walk to the toilets. It wasn't even her room ! The girl whose sink it was sat there in stunned silence. We all did.

I remember thinking at the time, it was that kind of flagrant disregard for other people's sensibilities that caused two world wars. They do make very good cars though, and Warwick basses are good too , if a tad overpriced nowadays .

There's a reason that high end scientific equipment - top of the range oscilloscopes, money no object microscopes, supercomputers, etc - doesn't come with these fancy conditioned power cables or thermally treated cables or whatever the latest audiophile craze is.

It's all BS. The only people naiive enough to fall for it are audiophiles and gullible musicians. Still, if people are rich enough that they can afford to spend thousands on enjoying the placebo effect then that's their problem, not mine.
Significantly though, you don't listen to music on any of that kind of equipment.

Peed in my shoe once (Long story). Never liked Warwick basses as I would find it easier to pee on one than play one
At the current retail prices, I would think long and hard before actually peeing on any German-made Warwick. Maybe start off peeing on a Rockbass or,at most, a Pro Series one and see how you go on. Those Made in Korea Warwicks are very good quality and you probably wouldn't notice much difference between peeing on one of them and a proper German one, anyway .

Point taken. Expensive things aren't they. Probably best to stick with peeing in my shoe. Mind you I have a Sadowsky.............

The snake oil salesmen think we're really stupid.

If I use one on my kettle, will my coffee taste better?
Only if you like it made with cold water. No matter how good (or not) that lead is you won't find any kettle that it will fit.

I notice that dogs quite often pee on my VW Polo - and always the wheels. Whether it's because they are British dogs and recognise a German car, I don't know. Possibly they just do it to spite me because I shout at them for crapping on my lawn.

I played a German made Warwick $$ a few years ago & it was a lovely instrument, would have one anytime.
A with months after, I played a Rockbass Corvette, I wouldn't pee on it if it were on fire.

No, but signal to noise is an important factor just like it is in audio.

If magic cables had any kind of real effect oscilloscopes, microscopes, radars, particle detectors, lasers, etc would come with them. They don't.

Good point. I'd forgotten about how electronic representations of audio signals flow differently in wires to electronic representations of scientific signals ;) :D

Once again, your missing the point.

There is no direct comparison between audio equipment and its' perceived performance and that of precise scientific instruments. Such cables may indeed not have a beneficial effect on such equipment , but that does not mean that they don't have an effect on audio equipment. Scientific instruments either work accurately or they do not. The same cannot be said of audio equipment and its' overall sonic complexion and character . It may sound O.K with a standard mains lead, but better with a specialist one. What kind of mains cable someone might use with a microscope or a radar has quite frankly got got bugger all to do with it. I am not sure why you think it might.

No one ever listened to Led Zeppelin on a radar or particle detector. That is why everything you have to say is a complete irrelevance. :)

Good lord! An audiophile admitting that physical reality is irrelevant to them!
