bubinga5
There is something about this band that i so dig. [font=sans-serif][color=#252525]Johnnie Wilder is awesome. I'm not sure Rod Temperton played keys on this funk classic. cracking record all the same. spongebob
Excellent call! I love the Heatwave stuff, very underrated. So many classic tracks - too many to list. I think they really had their own thing going on - funk, soul, ballads....they had it all. Some real tragedies in their story as well, very sad.....but the tunes are timeless, and the band deserves far more recognition than just being remembered for 'Boogie Nights'. Phil Adams
Now I've always been a rocker, but Heatwave were just awesome. I bought the single of Always and Forever and it had Mindblowing Decisions on the backside, simply beautiful music.

lojo
Very underrated band (though they did show up as the 10th or so greatest disco band in a documentary once. Of course Rod Temperton did make good, which is why some of "off the wall" sounds like heatwave with a different singer
FlatEric
A really great band and linked to my very few claims to fame! My old gaffer was their tour manager, in the late seventies. I got to re-string and set up the guitars and basses, just before they headed off to the USA - 1979, I think - but not long after, Johnnie had a car accident. Along with Gino Vanelli, AWB & Earth Wind and Fire, blasting away all day, on a little "briefcase" deck, we had - Too hot to handle and Central Heating were in there pretty much every day. I only have to hear one of the tracks and I'm transported back to a time when they were so many great bands, of the same persuasion. As spongebob says, they truly had some bad luck, almost from the word go. Think I'll go and dig out some Heatwave. Priceless!

casapete
Heatwave used to play at The Trog bar in Hull in the mid 70's, think they were called Chicago Heatwave at that time. Even back then they were obviously destined for better things. They had a local agency managing them, and somehow were still doing working mens club gigs when they had a top 40 single!!
