Hi folks,

This is my other Warwick Thumb BO 5 Broadneck, but the fretted one! Also AFAIK hard to come buy!

As my P bass seems to be fine for me at the moment I'll see if anyone wants to buy this. I bought this from the forum a while back and unfortunately realised it had a few issues when I got home! You can see in one of the pics of the back of the headstock that there had been one split and one crack there. The split (not sure what is was from, but possibly some form of shrinkage) and the crack (most likely it had fallen and hit the tuner, cracking between the tuner hole and the outside of the heastock) have both been fixed by Jon Shuker and have not budged at all in the time I've had it. I did track down the previous owners before the one I got it from and from their memories the tuner crack was definitely there, and hadn't moved since, however I wanted it fixed!

The other main issue with the bass is the truss rod/neck. At some point in it's life it had developed a slight S bend in it's neck, the truss rod allen key hole is beyond any practical use now as it's rounded out, however the truss rod does move and is not seized. To help with the action I asked Jon if he could dress the frets so they have been shaped/levelled to take into account the slight neck bend. The action I would describe as on the lower side of medium, I can't get it any lower without major surgery on Jon's part, hence the lower asking price!! The body has a few marks here and there, also the neck has one or two ones as well, they don't affect playing at all.

Considering all the above it does however play well and sound nice, not as thick as a Thumb NT 5, think more in the direction of a Streamer Stage 1, at least in my opinion (I've had them both!)

It's a German built 2001 year model, the body and neck are Ovangkol and the fretboard is Wenge, the pickups are MEC soapbars with a MEC 2 band bass/treble cut and boost preamp. The nut is an original just a nut 1 and it comes with black Schaller strap locks. The spacing is slightly adjustable and can range from 18 - 20 mm or there abouts. Lastly one of the tuners is a non Warwick branded one, looks the same, just not with the Warwick cap on. I'll include the original one as well, however it doesn't work lol!

I'd like £495 for this, it does play great as it is, however as stated above it would probably require some luthier work to get the action properly low, the price reflects this. I'd like this collected from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire only please and I can also include an old Warwick soft case that is came with.

Please check the pics out below:

It's the one on the right lol! See my other F/S thread for the other one here: http://basschat.co.u...dneck-fretless/ , and as mentioned above I'd also take £1245 for both of them together. I would much rather sell them as a pair B) !

Must be one of the last of the standard series Warwicks to have the original just-a-nut. Bargain if it plays well!

Egh, kind of a shame about the damaged neck. Going to be hard to sell a damaged bass for close to $1000 AUS. And sucks that the guy didnt disclose it all before you brought it. Good luck with the sale anyway.
