Vox Standard Bass
Made by Matsumoku Japan 1982.

In pretty good condition, no obvious dinks. Neck is good & straight - quite nice to play, frets have very little wear.
I've listed this as a project as it's missing a pickup, but buyer could get a P-Bass pickup to preference and have it installed without difficulty - all electrics, pots & jack socket are still on bass. It's an easy project, was tempted to put an EMG in it myself, but I don't seem to have time or inclination due to pedal builds and other guitars needing fixing. I also need the space!

This would make a good quality pub 'beater' bass :)

Original pup on this would've been a DiMarzio Model P - no doubt that's why it's gone missing!

Seriously good deal for £50 though - doubt it'll be around for long!

IMO Vox Standards are fine basses. Heavy, and thick in the neck, but they play well and sound good - much better than their expensive Vox Custom cousins, at least to my ear.

If I didn't have one already, I'd buy this one. OTOH, this is in better nick than mine (pup excepted)...

I have one also, it was my first proper bass.
My friend who is a music tech lecturer insists it is the best bass ever for recording and steals it for seasons at a time.
