If it had the original pre-litigation Fender headstock I probably would.

Picked up a Fenix Strat at my local car boot a couple of years back. Paid £30 and thought I could probably flip it for maybe £150 - £170ish. Still have it - it's the nicest Strat I've played and p!sses all over my '84 MIJ E-serial Squier. Fenixes were seriously good.

Early 90's I had a Fenix Tele Thinline, beautiful very well made guitar. Also had a couple of P/Js over the years and they were also exceptional for the money.
There is a good Fenix enthusiasts page on Faecesbook.

Well if I'm going to kill a thread by being the last poster- I might as well finish by saying I bought said Fenix 40 mins ago and got it for £90. It's awesome in quality and tone...

Good point, Davebass.

It's nice that over time we learn which brands and basses are the hidden gems that might be real bargains. But I fear that my middle aged memory is such that as I learn of one bargain, I forget another brand or model.

Never fear, Captain Twit - despite having long since lost any grasp of anything remotely useful in the Real World, I can still remember countless useless bits of info about cheapo bass & guitar brands, so I'm confident I'll be able to [s]pontificate endlessly[/s] - offer advice - about all your Junk Bass needs for decades to come. :D

Davetbass - glad it went to someone who'll appreciate it!

Junk bass advice may be quite important soon. The other week I was going swimming and was going through the countryside. There was a utterly huge field full of cars. When we got closer, it was an utterly massive car boot fair. This photo from google images doesn't do it justice IMHO.

Can I phone you at 6am on a Sunday if I find a misshapen lump of wood with "Made in Japan" on the neck plate?

I bought an 80's Washburn b10 on EBay last week for my teenage son to learn on. £64 + £10 postage. What would you get for that in a music shop? The invitation to not let the door hit your arse on the way out springs to mind!

I've heard of Fenix guitars but didn't realise how good they were. It's better than the Silver series jap Squier I had of the same period..

If there's something you see near me in future give me pm. I'd be happy to get it and post it on.

Can be quite frustrating as most guitars are collection only because of postal charges😉

By all means. I won't actually answer, though. :P

That's a serious car boot alright.

It's the Croft car boot sale. But it's on the corner of the B4114 and Broughton Road, so not very near Croft. Or, using modern technology, it's about here: https://maps.google....ingdom&t=m&z=15
