If you will indulge me for a moment whilst I put my anorak on, I happen to know for a fact that top Atlanta- based session player Preston Crump ( yes, that is his real name) , who you've heard on loads of hip hop tracks produced by Dr Dre as well as on records by Outkast and En Vogue, uses this exact same bass as his first choice instrument in the studio, and it's the bass that producers most request for him to use: Preston chillin' with his bass at Ikea: Edited May 15, 2014 by Dingus Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Fender basses have an inverted U price/quality relationship - low priced models tend to disappoint as do high priced models, but the mid priced models are often outstanding instruments for the money. To cap it all - IMO of course - PJs are the most versatile gigging basses out there and rosewood necks win hands down over maple.
