MB1 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 MB1. There was a short interview on Newsnight followed by this set. Was a bit dubious as the last time I saw them was on the Parallel Lines Tour. ...See what you think! Quote
Lozz196 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Not bad, a nice bass presence and good to see Clem Burke hitting those drums whenever he feels like it, as oppose to when they really should be hit Quote
Roger2611 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I watched a bit of it on the Red button the other morning, I wasn't very impressed, I didn't the Debbie Harry was putting any effort into the vocals and I wanted to punch the guitarist for playing inappropriate solos during classic hits. Mrs2611 said exactly what I was thinking, "well we won't need to bother going to see Blondie will we" Shame really they were one of the seminal bands of the late 70's and early 80's Quote
icastle Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I didn't even get half way through the video - out of tune, timing all over the place and more cues missed than hit. That's not the Blondie I want to remember. Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014
I'm watching (enduring) it now. Does it get progressively worse all the way through? Sugar On The Side is sh*te. Hanging On The Telephone was murdered. Call Me. Well excuse me if I don't. Debbie - you can't sing any more girl. Give it up.
This is one of the best reviews I've ever seen;). Never been a blonde fan( blue rinse now). An old pal use to love her. I thought Clem Burke was the best thing about them . I have to watch this now for amusement Quote
HowieBass Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I'll get Stein's photography book when it comes out in autumn so I can enjoy my memories of Debbie and Blondie when they were at their most vital. BTW is that a Spector bass? Quote
KevB Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Saved me the effort of tuning in, I saw a live recording of them somewhere about 10 years ago (at least) and thought her voice was shot then. Quote
Toddy Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Or. Come see us "Heart of Glass" Blondie like it used to be.. Quote
geofio Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 they looked as they could not be bothered playing lol Quote
cetera Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014
BTW is that a Spector bass?
Yep..... he's a longtime Spector user.... Quote
