discreet Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Is BassChat's Server in the USA? I only ask because due to an incredible amount of SPAM from North America I put a block on anything being sent from any USA-based domain in order to deal with it. However... now I'm not getting BassChat email notifications, hence my question. I thank you! Quote
icastle Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 There's more than one server, but the one that sends mail is in the US. Not sure what you're using to block the mail, but adding an exception to the US block shouldn't be too hard. Quote

Thanks for the info. Quote
wateroftyne Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 As an aside, Gmail are determined to classify my BC email as spam. I had to set up really specific rules to make sure they landed in my inbox. Quote
discreet Posted May 15, 2014 Author Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) Still have the US block but have listed BC's domain as an exception, so we'll see... Edit: That seems to work. Thanks, all. Edited May 15, 2014 by discreet Quote
TimR Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 This would explain why the server clock hasn't changed yet then. Quote

icastle Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014
Fixed now.
Your PC wasn't set to DST? Quote
icastle Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014
I haven't done anything. I'm on iPhone.
Ah. There are plenty of documented issues with IOS 7 and earlier with DST and there are a few reports appearing regarding IOS 8. Certainly nothing to do with the BassChat infrastructure. Quote

True story. Lol. The servers were in the States, and naughty people had been using them, so the Feds shut them down. Quote
Just to clarify that just a little bit, the server hosting company (Pacific Hosting) were closed down for hosting illegal content alongside legitimate sites such as Bassworld. It's taken me quite a time to get used to living in South America. Quote
