TheGreek Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Wal's historically have been notoriously heavy - what's the weight of this one??
cornelis Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 fender i think is 19 mm the wal 5 in between 17 18 more easy acctually but you cannot switch instruments
UglyDog Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Goddam it, where's a lottery win when you need one? Beautiful instrument.
saroumane2005 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Partial trade is possible? i have a wonderfull Roscoe SKB3005 fretted, looks like new
AndroWal Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) My four 5-string Wals all have 16.5mm spacing. Mark II 5-strings do tend to be heavy...I have two of them...and some are well balanced and some have heavy headstocks, thus neck-dive. I have mitigated this wonderfully by replacing the tuners with M4S Lights from Schaller. These are direct replacements and look exactly the same as the original tuners, but are much lighter. My Mark II 5s sound and play great. So much sound, booty, growl, punch, clarity,...you can get so much from them. I haven't played any other bass that can match a Wal for its true "bass-ness."
