Say It LOUD: We're versatile and we're proud - post your 6 string pics

Okay, so we're all bassists, but guess what - some of us have got another couple of strings to our bow(s). I cordially detest the partisan bullshit that is particularly prevalent on a certain US bass forum, whereby all players of 6 string electric guitars are, apparently, narcissistic arseholes whose only mission in life is to piss off the saintly, impeccable bass players in their bands. I have never spent any length of time in a band where I didn't have total respect for the integrity and creativity of all the other members, which is why I never understand fellow bass players referring to their bandmates as 'guitards'. If you don't like the musicians you're playing with, you should leave and shut up. Or just shut up.

Anyway - rant over - yes, it is possible to play bass and guitar and be pretty reasonable at both. So let's see your pics of you passing over to what some of our less enlightened bass brethren might see as the dark side.

To kick things off, here I am rocking my G&L Tribute ASAT Deluxe with Colin Newman and Robert Grey (Wire) and Malka Spigel (ex Minimal Compact) earlier this year.

I haven't got any pics but I like what you're saying! Never understood the term guitard too. I play guitar and bass so have no issues with fellow musicians!

Here's a montage I made up some time back of me and various guitars and basses through the years.

I'm currently using a Cort M450 with P90s but I have a massive hankering for yet another Tele (none of my previous ones feature above strangely).

Agreed, there are some uninformed guitarists but that goes for bassists, drummers, the lot. I don't understand why everyone gives the guitarist a hard time.

I personally much prefer playing bass but I do enjoy dabbling with guitars. My current setup is USA Telecaster/Orange Dual Terror/Orange PPC212 (Closed back)....its delightful!

I'm more of a guitarist than a bassist if truth be told. This is my main guitar, self built.

Actually I posted a thread about making it here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/210039-so-i-built-my-ideal-guitar/

I also have a great respect for the guitarists I have played with and am not keen on "Guitard".

I understand the condition, as I have met quite a few that fall towards that catagory but I have
been fortunate with the ones I have been involved with.

I can come out now - I play guitar and I have respect for guitarists. . . . . in the main. :)

Got bored of Bass after playing it from 1986 to 2001
swapped to guitar to teach myself how to write songs and get back into music
returned to bass back in 2010 to tour with a pro band and am now back on guitar again 2014,
I never got into rock or Indie but love rockabilly and Jazz so here are a few of my squeezes please excuse facial expressions
learning another instrument is the best thing you can do to widen your musical knowledge
love Reverend and Gretsch guitars

I'm not versatile. I gave up playing my guitars until I tuned them into all-fourths so that I could play them like a bass. My guitar playing is getting more guitar-like again since I started getting better at the all-fourths chord shapes. The 9th barre chord is fairly challenging.

Anyhows, pictures. I have more, but this my favourite.

I played bass from '81 to about '08 and finally set up a band so I could learn guitar.....I need the enforced discipline (ooh, er, matron!).
here's most recent outing a few weekends ago in Nottingham as a Disco God!....not!!
