For sale - My Epiphone Elitist EB3 in glorious short scale. I picked this up a couple of months ago after years of keeping my eyes open for one. Alas it's not really for me, after all that! Certainly a bit of a rarity on these shores.

The bass is in superb condition, with just two small chips in the finish - one by the lower strap button and one on the rear of the horn. The rest of the bass is superb, neck appears pristine as far as I can tell. All electronics and hardware in full working order. The back of the headstock is marked '2nd' but I am unable to see why - unless it was the aforementioned chips to the finish.

This bass is far closer to the original Gibson EB3 than the current SG bass, both in feel and particularly tone. It nails the Jack Bruce / Andy Fraser / Jim Lea sound and really comes alive with a bit of drive.
The bass was recently set up with D'Addario Chrome flats. I also added a mod bar to the bridge (see pics) - this is removeable If you don't like it but it does wonders for sustain and tone.

Not much attention yet... I think I've priced it fairly considering these were originally over a grand. However I am open to offers!
Don't confuse this with the standard Epiphone line, these are much better quality and far more authentic.

Not sure what the difference is by short scale tbh. is it like a 3/4 size guitar? Sorry...newbie dumb question.
[/quote]

The scale length is the distance from the bridge to the nut. On most basses it's 34", generally known as long scale, this Epiphone is 30.5" which is known as short scale.
