mikebass84 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I recently came into some unexpected money so i decided I would get a new bass. Spent a few hours in Brum with a £400 budget. Tried guitarguiar first and saw a lovely LTD. Then headed over to PMT where i ended up buying a Schecter Diamond Series Custom 5. Such a beauty.Nice smooth neck. YlGreat Tone. Plays like a dream Quote

discreet Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Lovely - interesting use of contrasting woods. Quote
mikebass84 Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Been playing her all night and wow! Had to slightly raise the saddles as I was getting a tiny bit of fret buzz but just wow. Plays so nice and sounds fantastic. The low B(which I tune to A) really kicks you in the chest. Quote
dmccombe7 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Tried a schecter last year and was quite impressed. That is a nice looker you have there. Enjoy. Dave Quote
mikebass84 Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 I would also like to add that the customer service I received while in PMT was just amazing. Quote
megallica Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Was this bass second hand? I owned one of these custom 5 basses about four years ago and havent seen any around recently. Congrats on the new bass. Quote

KevB Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I had a C4 in antique amber for a while, lovely finish and very lightweight and playable. The tone was just a bit too 'polite' for my liking so eventually I moved it on for about what I paid for it. Quote

[/quote] I was told that pmt had it ordered in for a custom who decided he didn't like it so pretty much brand new. Looks like it's hardly been touched so if it is 2nd hand it had a very good owner Quote
visog Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 These have got quite a rep in terms of 'bang for buck'... Is this a through-neck? £400 is a good price. Enjoy it! Quote
mikebass84 Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 It's a bolt on neck. 6 bolts if I remember correctly Quote
