kingofthestuntmen
A lot of activity on Twitter suggesting Randy Coven has passed away... A bassist that I was aware of for a long time, but the Ark albums really made me sit up and listen.
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
Noooooo! He was pure '80s. Got the hot licks video, where he was really spaced out. Also the first two albums. This is so sad. Totally underrated imho. Shame ;(
Stuart Clayton
Very sad. I loved his first two solo albums when I was a teenager.
Badass
Sadly it seems it's true: http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2014/05/21/in-memoriam-randy-coven/ R.I.P.
Paulhauser
His playing on Ark's Burn the sun is great, he and John Macaluso were a k..kass rhythmsection.
blamelouis
Great player...sadly missed.
visog
Shame... don't want to speak ill but was never much of fan of his metally big-hair stuff - that said, his playing with Yngwie must have been a note-fest to behold. Not sure his case for a bass wang was proven either... Anywho, he was obviously a talented guy - here he is in a more textural Warwick mode: https://www.youtube....h?v=ilsKlbAjhEw Edited May 23, 2014 by visog

warwickhunt
Don't ever recall hearing his playing but I defo remember the name from Seymour Duncan (amp/cab) adverts of the 80's!
tappel
I knew Randy, not well, but I did know him. It’s a great loss for the bass world. He was a sensational player. This video is from a clinic he gave in Taiwan in 2002. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yHQUys_hZk Tom Edited May 25, 2014 by tappel
