Glad to hear it! Something that strikes me with my own Vigs is that they are a superb bass to use live as much as they are in isolation. Normally the two are very different, but the Vig cuts both really well with a unique and classy sound.

Do you want Alex and Luke to show you theirs ;0)

they're nice looking instruments, but IMHO, spoiled by the fact that they have "Vigier" written in large letters on the body. There's a few other manufacturers that do the same (Zoot and Sandbergs (4 dot logo, a bit more subtle perhaps) spring to mind), and it totally turns me off from an aesthetic point of view.

What do you owners think?

Given that I own a Zoot as well, I guess it doesn't bother me! Some of my basses have far worse aesthetic failings, and I've forgiven/ignored those because of their tone or playability.

Never really bothers me, the logo on the body! Funnily enough, my Passion bass has the logo under the orange sunburst finish so in certain angles, it almost disappears as it turns gold! People come up at gigs (as mentioned in another thread) and always pronounce it wrongly! Not their fault. Just a lack of bassness!

Interesting comment RE the logo. To be honest I dislike body logos on zoot basses for example, but for some reason the Vigier logo looks really good - it doesn't actually say Vigier on the headstock either. Weird one. I guess I am just so used to it and love mine so much that it could have a pair of balls dangling from it and I wouldn't care!

The new series 4 basses don't have the body logo and are slightly different shapes. They are also bolt-on and have slightly more conventional features. It reminds me of Citroen a bit - quirky and sometimes fantastic early cars and now they are mainstream and slightly more typical.

There is just something about the shape of these series 2/3 basses that is just perfect. Just a joy to behold!

That is a Vigier Excalibur Ultra Blues, quite a majestic machine. It belongs to my guitar player who had to buy one after being so impressed with the feel of the neck. I am no guitar player but the neck is so comfy, it almost plays itself. The action is shipped is apparently the lowest of any company or something like that (I only read guitar stories quickly!)

Hope that clears it up!

From the horse's mouth (ie, Patrice Vigier) - "vee-ghee-ay". :)
