davebass66
HI all, hope I have this in a suitable section! So....I want to fit a decent 62 reissue style scratchplate onto my Jap 62 reissue P (The Jap tortoiseshell is far too red).. What Im trying to find out is whether a US 62 reissue scratchplate would fit on to my non export Jap '62.... I have dropped bass doc a message (he made me a Jazz plate a couple years ago) but haven't heard back from him - not sure how active he is on here at the moment.. I know they are all 13 hole as standard pretty much, mostly I want a nice old school tortoiseshell and also the holes to put the thumbrest/tugbar under the strings... Does anyone have any experience doing this or know either way? Thanks a lot! Dave
neepheid
The Bass Doc has been feeling poorly recently: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/237256-bass-doc/ So don't worry if it takes a few days for him to get back to you
Lozz196
And having had a couple of Bass Doc scratchplates, imo it`s worth the wait.
davebass66
Thanks guys....I'm in no real rush so will give him some time... Does anyone know if the US reissue plate would fit on the Jap reissue anyway?
Lozz196
Well I had a CIJ 62 Reissue and a Standard Fender scratchplate fitted it perfectly if that`s any help.
