adamlunt Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 These days you can get pedals that model pretty much any effect or piece of gear you want, but I can't find a pedal that can emulate a bunch of different studio-style compressors like the 1176 or LA-2A. I know you can get pedals that are based on these comps (Effectrode PC-2A, Roger Mayer Limiter, Cali76) but they are a bit expensive and I'd rather get something can replicate all of them. So… does anything like that even exist? Could a digital unit truly replicate the responses/feels etc of these comps? Quote
krispn Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Seen a rocktron comp locally which allows for individual compression over a range of band widths but not a modeller in any sense! Quote
JapanAxe Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 The Line 6 M series has compressor models you can pick from. Although most are pedal emulations, even the bottom-of-the-range M5 has a model of the LA-2A. Failing that, there are plenty of VST plug-ins that model studio compressors, so you would be looking at integrating an iPad into your setup. Quote
