Aguilar Tonehammer 500 vs Little Mark iii (or any other suggestions?)

I'd take a good look at the MB 500 Fusion. 2 channels (foot-switchable) is a big plus It's also tiny, loud and very versatile.

I run a GK MB800 into a Gen 2 BF Compact. Amp is like the 500, except that it has a preamp circuit built a bit closer to that of the larger heads.

Using middling gain and EQing with a slight bump on the low mids it's fairly pristine as opposed to warm, takes pedals well, 2nd channel is quite nice (although I haven't been using it), decent DI and is [b]terrifyingly[/b]* loud. 500w at 8 ohms into a 1x15 that can take that power is quite a weapon, especially as the whole rig can be lifted with one finger.

* As someone who's into their metal, sludge, doom, etc I don't say that lightly!

Out of interest, anyone use the Tonehammer with Markbass cabs?

If you're looking for an alternative to the Tonehammer try one of the Markbass TTE heads. Less "features" but excellent tone.

Don't really know yet. Tried the LMIII and quite liked that, but want to give the Aguilar a go too. Already own a nice Markbass 1x15 cab though, so wondered how they worked together...
