Geek99
I'm toying with the idea of flats. I currently use 45 105 rounds . What gauge flats should I get to avoid fiddling too much with the neck Thanks @bassdoc particularly interested in your view; this is for the 73 replica precision you built for me last year Edited May 27, 2014 by Geek99
Balcro
Hi Geek99, I went from a 45 - 105 D'Addario 165 XL's to GHS Brite Flats 52- 103 (ML 3075). No adjustment necessary. Balcro.
planer
I'm thinking you'll need a wider neck. Y'know, to get all the goats on there side-by-side. And then they'll only fight... sorry
Geek99
Narrower goats .... Feckig autocorrect
discreet
DR Fat Beams (45-105) to Fender 9050ML (50-100) with no problems. They're fairly up-front for flats so may ease the passage (fnarr) from one to the other.

BetaFunk
I put Status Flats on a Fretless, an Acoustic Bass and on two short scale basses and none needed any adjustment. I also put LaBella Flats on a Squier Bass VI and that was the only one that needed any adjustment.
Delberthot
I've just gone from Roto 45s to Roto flats 40s and they feel pretty similar and definitely more funky in a Bernard Edwards kind of way. Makes me want to play Everybody Dance
