JazzBassfreak Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 So I just bought a banjo, it's a Barnes and Mullins Jasmine, at the minute I feel really intimidated. But even just twiddling about playing duelling banjos on it is awesome. It's so addictive to play! Any other banjo enthusiasts on here? Quote
skej21 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 You planning on being the next Oteil Burbridge? http://youtu.be/_BQV5rgC354 Quote
EssentialTension Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I'm a big fan but I'm very poor at it myself. My son plays some banjo in his gypsy-folk-dub band Euphony. He's got an Ozark of some kind with a closed back. Quote

oggiesnr Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Great fun I can play five string a bit but I'm better on a tenor. The secret of five string is to work on your basic roll pattern and once you've got that nailed the rest falls into place. Have fun Steve Quote

KingBollock Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Mine's a cheapy (£200 new) Fender five string but I love it. Lots of fun can be had by transferring finger picking rolls onto the bass, too. Quote
barkin Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Another here who plays a bit of 5 string. Only a very little bit mind, but good fun nonetheless ! I also dabble with 6-string, and mandolin, which makes for some 'interestiing' chord variations... Quote
pete.young Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/165553-dirty-banjo-habit/ Might be worth asking the mods to move this into 'Other Instruments' . Quote
