I have an Aria Pro II TSB 400 (1980 I believe, going by its serial number) with an 'Aria Pro II Ti-Sound Bass' hard carry case. It's a beautiful looking guitar...have some great pics I can put on, tho not sure how to add them to this?! I bought it back in 1986 from the Wapping Bass Centre, London. It's in excellent condition. Info about the model I've found on the Matsumoku.org site saying the following...It has a maple detachable neck, rosewood FB, 22 fret, nato maple body, 2 MB-III double coil pickups, 1V 2T controls, pickup selector switch. It's got beautiful woodgrain and a deep red orange colouring. I am an amateur bass player who would love my guitar to be used by someone who would really appreciate it. I'm wondering what it's possibly worth if I sell it? Any advice/thoughts warmly welcomed...thank you Edited May 29, 2014 by Nearly50! FlatEric Posted May 29, 2014 Share Posted May 29, 2014 Hi. I have one of these - it's a really nice medium scale bass. Quite often there are players on here, who are looking for a good medium scale. They wouldn't go wrong with a 400. As with so many instruments, a bit underrated but when players do get their hands on them, I think they are a little surprised and how nice they are to play and the tones that are available. randythoades Posted May 30, 2014 Share Posted May 30, 2014 Unless you need the money I would keep hold of it. It is a lot of bass, better than a lot of the mid priced new instruments around. I think you would probably be looking at a selling price of between £200-250, but you might get close to £300 with a good wind. Having the case is a good asset and may bump it up though as not many around. Real shame as they are far better than a similar priced new instrument. Great advice...but having kept hold of it and barely used it for the last 20 years, it's probably best I sell it for someone to enjoy! When I do put it up for sale with pics, you will see what great condition it's still in too....barely a mark on it. Thanks for info on the case...I had heard that might bump up the sale a bit. randythoades Posted June 2, 2014 Share Posted June 2, 2014 Mattanorak, with all due respect, the TSB 550 is not a TSB 400. The market for the higher range instruments is still quite buoyant, although you initially wanted £150 more than your selling price. The 550 is through neck rather than bolt on and yours was a very unusual factory colour. But, as you say, if you bide your time you can get some good prices.
