Count Bassy Posted May 31, 2014 Share Posted May 31, 2014 Has anyone else thought it would be nice to have different tuner ratios on different strings? On my five strings in particular I find that tuning the upper strings (A,D,G) is fairly easy, a good twist of the tuner has a noticeable but controllable affect on the the pitch. The E string is not too bad, but by the time you get to the B string a small movement of the tuner has a makes a big difference in the pitch, which tend to lead to overshooting when tuning. Obviously it is manageable, but a higher ratio tuner, say on the E and B strings would make life easier. Any thoughts! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

[/quote] Same here really. I was thinking more of manufacturers fitting them as original equipment. You'd think that the addition cost would be negligible. I'd think it's only a question of time before this is standard on some brands, especially since it seems these things are not critical and one needs just two different ratios.
