hubrad
Gawd! No surprise there, then. Luggage handlers are renowned for really not being bothered, in fact the more fuss you make about how precious something is the more likely they are to throw it or drop things on it. This is why so many DB players resort to an EUB or arrange to rent/borrow locally.

Mornats
Reading the post it was the TSA officials who did the damage and not the baggage handlers. It was in a flight case and the guy reckons they took it out and dropped it.

jakenewmanbass
I once peered through the flaps at the end of a carousel to see a baggage handler drag my bass case off a cart by the headstock, letting the body of the bass drop to the floor with an almighty whack! Luckily it was well cushioned in a stevenson flightcase so there was no damage, I did however scream shout and swear at the little sh*t, for his utter disrespect, they know fully though that they are untouchable, because under the warsaw convention they are not liable for damages, they don't give a sh*t and it's a f***ing disgrace, I'm so pissed off to see JPs bass that way, his contribution to music has been stellar for over 25 years, and commercialism and pathetic attitude has led to this, as one of the comments in the thread says.. it will never be the same again...
