Then click the little green 'image' square (to the right of the 'link' icon in the Basschat post editor), paste the direct link in the box provided, et... violin! cclowend
This is painful. If I use my laptop the icon in this box blinks weirdly and it takes half an hour to write a scentence and then the blue box for the link wont bugger off! I give up! Zenitram
Right click on an image. Click on "View image". A new window or tab should open. Copy the resulting URL. Then do as I said above.
TheGreek
With Photobucket click on the image, left click "IMG" - it will say "copied" then post the code in the "Reply to topic" box here...easy - even I can do it!!
JapanAxe
I tend to put photos I want to share in the Public area of my Dropbox folder - if I put them in the Photo part, the links ask people for a password!

Damonjames
Ok, I can see how to do it on the full site on a pc. Pics are on Flickr which seems to be the problem?

However by looking at the source code for the site I was able to get the URL of the image, so entering: [code][/code] should get you this: Edited June 18, 2014 by BigRedX
Spoombung
[b]Flickr drives me MAD[/b] [b]looking for the url code![/b] You have to go through several stages to find it. They changed it a while ago and now no one knows how to link to a .jpeg photo anymore. Mind- bogglingly Idiotic.

Do Dropbox links not work like they would if I pasted the link into the 'post image' function (which is not available on my phone/ipad)? BigRedX
It's a question of using the right tools for the job. Dropbox is fine for sharing files with a limited number of people who are most likely going to view them on their computer or mobile device, but if you want to add images to your forum posts you need an image host, and ideally one that automatically that provides IMG tags.
