cetera Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) Hey all, Just wanted to let you know that I will be playing bass in a tribute show to the classic Thin Lizzy album 'Live & Dangerous' this friday night at Redhill Harlequin Theatre..... and on Fri 20th June at Dartford Mick Jagger Centre (see reply below)! The band also features Andy Fox & Greg Hart (both ex-Limehouse Lizzy), Mike Nolan (ex-The Bohemians) & Rick Chase (ex-Graffiti/Mama's Boys). We will be performing the album in full, plus some other classic Lizzy tracks played on that tour but edited off the original album! Would be great to see any of you who can make it! Cheers! gadgie Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Will you be asking if there's anybody with some Irish in them? Great album! Quote
cetera Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Lol! It's more of a musical (vibe/feel/groove) tribute...... rather than a warts n all copy of every last word said etc.... Quote
Kevsy71 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Best of luck, I'd love to make it but looks like I'll be away My band cover Dancin' in the Moonlight - out of interest do you phase or flange the intro riff? Quote
cetera Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 I was using a phaser but I'm just using a chorus at the moment.... No worries, maybe next time Quote
KevB Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Have a great gig, if it was a bit closer I might have been tempted. I hope you are doing the full tribute and going off to play big chunks of the album later at a studio as well Quote
FlatEric Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 So wish I was closer!! Typical - been in Surrey for the last two days! Bah Humbug!! We do a lot of Lizzy numbers and we all love playing them. To see the whole thing, all the way through, is well worth the ticket price. Good luck, hope all goes well and let me know if you ever get to do it again. All the best. Cheers. Quote
leroydiamond Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 What a great album to be covering! will you be using fingers or pick? Quote

What a great bass player Lynott was, not to mention his song writing skills and the fact that he looked fantastic. there is only one way to nail those bass lines and that is with a pick. Continue to enjoy Quote
cetera Posted June 8, 2014 Author Posted June 8, 2014 That's it for now FlatEric.... more to be announced in the near future. Please look up RockAnthemsUK on Facebook and keep up to date with any dates as they are announced Cheers Leroy! Quote
