martthebass
One thing I did think D was what a great job he's done on the PG. I was in the process of getting a high quality repro but was surprised at the quality of the standard pg and the relicing treatment.
The Limelight PG is much better in reality than in the pics in the OP. I'm still going to get a Spitfire guard though, because I think it will be the icing on the cake as far as this Jazz is concerned. Having see the website and what's on offer I just had to do it. http://spitfiretorto....wordpress.com/ His relic work is exemplary and his guards are indistinguishable from the genuine articles, imho.
They're currently my favourites - they'll growl and boing if you want but they also have heft and they can thump, too. Depending on how you play them, of course. They're easier on the fingers and frets than rounds, as well.
...great sound mate!
Thank you sir - my playing's a bit all over the place - I may have another go at it. It's just to give a rough idea of what the bass sounds like, really - I'm sure there are those who would like to know! Bassman Sam
Sounds great Mark, just like a classic Jazz should. That Fender logo makes all the difference.
Clarky
Sh*t Mark, where's the root-5th and repeat? Or chugging on open strings. Now that's real bass playing. You are making most of us look bad (The bass sounds fab by the way)
