NBD - Limelight Jazz Bass 1960 YOB *Spitfire Guard!*

One thing I did think D was what a great job he's done on the PG. I was in the process of getting a high quality repro but was surprised at the quality of the standard pg and the relicing treatment.

The Limelight PG is much better in reality than in the pics in the OP. I'm still going to get a Spitfire guard though, because I think it will be the icing on the cake as far as this Jazz is concerned. Having see the website and what's on offer I just had to do it. :)

His relic work is exemplary and his guards are indistinguishable from the genuine articles, imho.

But only on white or sunburst... and there is little option for a 1960 Jazz...

I'm going to have a crack at 'Mercy' - The Third Degree version, not Duffy's dirge...
Don't know how it is on laptop or computer speakers but it sounds OK on headphones and proper monitors... if you have any lying around... You should at least get some idea. :)

One or two timing errors and other bits, but... meh! :)

Is that with the stock strings Mark or....?
Status Half-Wounds - they arrived this morning. Didn't bother with the stock strings - didn't like them much. :)

Cheers, an order for said Halfies sounds like a good idea...
They're currently my favourites - they'll growl and boing if you want but they also have heft and they can thump, too. Depending on how you play them, of course. ;) They're easier on the fingers and frets than rounds, as well.

...great sound mate!
Thank you sir - my playing's a bit all over the place - I may have another go at it.
It's just to give a rough idea of what the bass sounds like, really - I'm sure there are those who would like to know! :)

Sounds bostin'! :)

Cheers, our Nod. ;)

If I'm not much mistaken that is Leo Fender with a youthful-looking Bass Doc in your avatar, is it not??
I claim my five pounds.

Can't get the audio to play on my Mac... some QuickTime plug-in shenanigans going on. Life isn't fair.

Sh*t Mark, where's the root-5th and repeat? Or chugging on open strings. Now that's real bass playing. You are making most of us look bad :D

(The bass sounds fab by the way)

Are you sure this is not just the record, and that you are having us on? ;)

The original bass is a bit more fluid than mine. ;)
