elephantgrey
Today i managed to persuade a crafty type to build me a board to put my pedals on, that fits nicely inside a flight case i had handily laying about the house unused. Ive still got to get him to drill holes across the middle for power leads to go through, and find a way to actually attach my pedals to it. Ive read a few posts that seam to favor velcro brand hook and loop tape, over other brand stuff, or pedalboard tape. This seams to mainly be because of the adhesive on the back. Is this still what people are suggesting? how well does the loop side hold its integrity? Has anyone tried the godlyke tape?
JapanAxe
I think I used this when I needed extra for my PT2. JapanAxe
The loop part sticks very firmly. I can pick up the board by 2 pedals. To remove a pedal I gradually slide an old credit card between the two parts of the Velcro. The issue is always pedals with rubber on the bottom. If there are feet on the corners I pull them off and stick the hook Velcro to the painted metal. If there is a rubber base that I don't want to remove, I often cut the Velcro oversize, loosen the pedal's base plate, and tuck the Velcro ends in before tightening up the screws and clamping it in place. Alternatively for my vintage 80s pedals, I use a pedal boot screwed to the board: http://www.acdguitars.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=67 Edited June 5, 2014 by JapanAxe
elephantgrey
Just a quick update, I went around town, the local music store owner said that he doubts hell be able to get in any pedal board tape, and the hardware store didnt have any velco, so internet it is. Still havnt really decided on getting hook and loop or mushroom tape. Both seam to be about the same price, but the velcro is thicker so i think im leaning towards that as ill end up needing less of it to cover my board. Unfortunately it is stronger than the adhesive side, I pulled a pedal off and the tape was still stuck together on the board
