New (?) Harley Benton model - short scale hollow body

Sounds fine to me. I'd like to hear a few more playing styles, e.g. with a pick. But it seems to make the right sort of sounds in that video.

Interesting YouTube post, keep looking at these on Thomman, shall I or not??? I've also come across the Bach Rivoli style basses this week, looking at 400euro but they look very tasty!!

I'm the guy who uploaded that Harley Benton HB-60 video on the previous page. And I owned one of those Bach basses, sold it and regretted it. It was a one trick pony, but sounded pretty good and build quality was on par for the price. The HB-60 is a different beast tho, less boomy and muddy. I've got videos from both of them, so you can judge for yourself.

Dunic, on the Thomann website it says the controls are 1 x vol 1 x tione and 3-way switch but it actually has 3 control knobs - what does the third one do?

it's wired like a jazz bass, two volumes for each pickup, one tone.

nope, I guessed a master volume should be there but it's neck pickup volume on lower horn, tone in the middle, then bridge pickup volume.

Shortscale, but it felt/played like a normal scale bass. Same goes for the HB-60 by the way.

@dunic - you've put less processing/amp sound on the HB-60 than Ed Friedman did on the Eastman Classic 4. But, from what I can hear the Harley Benton is quite close to the sound of the Classic 4.

Over on the German music forum, someone just bought this bass from the Thomann 'flea market'. It's a long scale semi-hollow. This doesn't seem to be a properly released model. I wonder what it is. A prototype?

How much volume does it produce acoustically, and how's the tone?
