Japanese made SR800
Beast of a preamp. Bass/treble concentric pot, and a variable mid EQ concentric pot. Real open tonal pallette.

The neck is the skinniest I've ever played. Truth be told its too skinny for me, plus I've recently been given a Kramer and that suits my hands better.
Very well put together guitar, flexible range of tones and very light.
I've replaced the strings with light round wounds.
No idea what the value is, but I'm looking ideally for a trade for a squier bass VI (plus cash your way), or perhaps a baritone electric? Or straight sale, no other basses please.

Comes in a functional gig bag.

I'm in Dorset, if you want to try it out. Or I can meet up near Bristol, Bournemouth, or somewhere along A303 East or west.

£200 is a great deal for one of these - I've had 2 (fretted & fretless) and have varying degrees of regret over selling both. Lovely, playable, versatile & great-looking basses.

Btw I think the serial suggests 1995, Fujigen factory.

Jon.

If only this was up last week when my Squier VI was still for sale! :(

Sad indeed! :-(

I'd like to buy this, sir - would you consider posting it Up North, possibly/preferably with the neck off?
[/quote]

Indeed, that would be no problem and neck off is my preferred method of sending a bass. PM me with your details and I'll do the same by return.

Cheers,
John

Couple showing marks on back by neck bolts and front of body. These were on it when I got the bass. Not bothered me as the marks have no defect on the bass's sound, structure or performance.

This was mine, I traded it with John for a 5er he had that I had GAS for. I am almost tempted to buy it back as it is an absolutely cracking bass. 7.5lbs of Fugi-jen's finest with the skinniest neck I have played. And I have a penchant for skinny necks, too. The marks shown are pretty well it as far as superficial damage is concerned, it shines with a deep piano black that belies its age.

This has done the Basschat rounds, when I got it the electrics had been converted to passive with new pickups (but included the old bits in the sale). I put it back to stock and had the knackered preamp put back to fully working again. Be quite interested if all the previous owners could chip in as, to my knowledge, there were 2 Basschatter owners before me.
