£900

Price drop to £700

Reluctantly my Jazz for sale.

Colour Ivory (549) R/W fretboard Serial No. E302014

The previous owner has undertaken some modifications such as replacing the one piece scratchplate and replacing the pickups with EMGs ( small area routed under scratchplate). I subsequently changed the pickups to Bartolinis which I prefer. Bridge is fender but not original 1983.
I bought this bass in ~1990 and think I am the third owner from new.
Minor dings on the lower edges of the body but no buckle rash. Neck clean. Good condition for a 30 year old.
Plays and sounds great. I don't have scales but it feels quite light to me compared to my other Fender (precision '72)
I have read on this site that these basses are highly regarded but sadly it's got to go.

I have an 83 Jazz in Ivory, too, and it's a cracking bass! It's got 70's pick up spacing that gives it that distinctive sound. I paid a lot more for mine. Good luck with the sale!

Oh dear
Is no one interested?
Maybe I'm making a mistake in my sales pitch.
Constructive criticism most welcome.

It's a lovely bass!

A 1983 USA Standard Jazz for £750 is a great price. Without the mods £900, or even a bit more, would have been a spot on price. This is a great buy for someone. BTW from what publication is the page on early 80s USA Standard basses?

Hutton it's from the Fender Bass by Klaus Blasquiz. ISBN 0-7935-0757-X.

I honestly thought the bass would be snapped up quickly but I guess austerity UK affects us all.

Timtims
No guitar trades, I must offload basses. (This must seem like sacrilege but I'm in a financial/job pickle).

Just a thought, but it might be helpful to say where you are based for BCers wanting to try the bass out. Not uninterested myself tbh.

Thanks for the tip Ead,
I live in Dorset and would be happy to drive ~2 hours if someone is interested. I do believe that you should try before you buy.
