geoham
Hi, I've been hunting for a decent transcription of Oliver's Army. I've never really paid attention to the bass on it before, and it is certainly much busier than I expected! I'm not a big fan of the text based tabs which are common on the internet, but that's all I can find for this. I've looked at some of the sites listed on here with no luck. Can anyone help? Either dots or proper tab would be ideal! Thanks
rogerstodge
I had to learn it but couldn't find anything, i done it by ear in the end, playing it over and over again
geoham
That's what I was hoping to avoid! Strange that such an awesome bassline hasn't been transcribed!
JapanAxe
Do you have any transcription software like Sibelius? If so, find a MIDI version of the song online, import it into the software, and isolate the bass track. It won't be 100% accurate but it will be a start. goblin
If you go on musicnotes.com, there's a transcription there. Not sure how good it is, but the first page looks pretty accurate to me. It's not a song I like playing to be honest, but soon I'll be playing it on a weekly basis, so godda get it nailed! The other way as others have said is to simply listen to it over and over again. I always learn things in sections; it's never good to just sit and play it all the way through as you'll find yourself making the same mistakes, and learning the mistakes instead of what you're actually meant to play. iconic
great tune , I did this a few weeks back, the tab can be a little confusing with the timing (well for me anything is ) but seeing how it's played helps a lot. http://youtu.be/Z8XSDsD9C88

Anyway, thanks to everyone for their help.
