Bobs
Hi Hope someone can help. Just purchased a mint 2nd hand warwick corvette $$ with natural swamp ash body, Included in the user kit is a tin of wax hence might seem a bit of a silly question but does the swamp ash body need to be waxed Many thanks Bob
Pete1967
Yes.. A light coat of wax every six months or so will keep the wood looking silky, and provide a little protection from general grot....
HowieBass
Always remember, wax on, wax off... http://youtu.be/Bg21M2zwG9Q
Matte_black
I make oil-finished basses but I must admit I don't like wax much... it's sticky, hard to polish unless you heat it and gets stuck into routings. I prefer some kind of oil, but not a type that builds a coat but something that keeps the original finish greasy and shiny.
BassBod
The Warwick stuff is much thinner than most furniture waxes, be sparing and it won't build into a shiny layer quickly. Its worth keeping the ash clean, as once the dirt gets in and it discolours you'll have to sand it back a bit. Better to keep the dirt out. goingdownslow
I use Pledge Cedar Oil, 99p from Home Bargains, on my Bubinga Thumb Basses. Leaves no build up and a silky smooth finish.
