Clarky72
Just finished this. Sorry its not much of a diary, more of a finished status... First time I've built a bass from parts, and pretty happy with the result. I might swap the body out though, not entirely convinced by the 70s pickups position...I might have to pull it all apart and put into a regular jazz bass body, not sure yet.. 25yr old Musikraft body, nitro finish and nicely aged. Sibob
Yup, looks really great! It'll be a great workhorse for sure! Si
umcoo
Aye, she looks a cracker alright! Can't beat a bitsa Jazz. One thing, not sure if the pickups are 70's spacing. If anything, they look even further apart than that. I had a Geddy Lee body [with 70#s spacing] and it didn't look that far between each pup. Might just be my eyes though. Rock it! Geek99
Yes bit too 70s on the spacing - it's only a centimetre closer to bridge than 60s I think Nice though it does need tort really
Clarky72
Thanks for the nice words I think it a bit further back than regular 70s, it makes a nice growl though Still toying with the idea of regular spacing on a different body. The neck is absolutely amazing!!
UglyDog
Is your desire for different pup spacing based on an aesthetic preference or tonal reasons? Are you satisfied with how it sounds as-is?

Great for a nice snappy tone, lovely growl, but today I think I prefer the regular location. Not sure about it yet. I may sell it complete, I might change the body out for another.... bh2
Cor! That would look nice with it's covers on... tort or pearl would round it off. Very nice job.
