tommorichards Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) A chap i follow on youtube recently posted this video. Ive been a fan of the 100 guitar riffs, and can always watch it when im bored and enjoy it. And i was wondering if there was ever going to be a bass one. I dont think i managed to find one, but this chap Davie504 posted this up, and i think its excellent. He manages to nail them all spot on. Just thought id share really. 100 basslines http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDKDdVilQT4 the 100 guitar riffs video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiC__IjCa2s Edited June 11, 2014 by tommorichards Quote

E sharp Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I liked that , but I'd say about half of the songs , I've never heard of - probably showing my ignorance . But well played Quote
JamesBass Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 He's awesome! Very good player and a great tone! Quote
waynepunkdude Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Very good player but a really smug face, by the end I wanted to get that bass and hit him with it. Quote
thisnameistaken Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) That was fun but: It shows how insignificant the later Jamiroquai bass lines are. And he gets the Super Freak bass line wrong and labels it 'U Can't Touch This'. Which is unforgivable. I haven't listened beyond that point. Edit: I listened a bit further and realised he's learned a lot of these tunes from tab and not actually listened to the originals at all. Pretty poor. I wouldn't go as far as to chop his fingers off but if he put his fingers in front of me and begged me to do it I probably would. And he probably should. Edited June 12, 2014 by thisnameistaken Quote

iconic Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Chic....h good find thanks, tidy player too (wish I was half as good) yeah, some of the lines I know are a bit 'odd' but I think he maybe playing more the melody than the bass lines to some of the tunes Quote

Hobbayne Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 He has also changed the key to some of them although that doesnt seem to have made a difference. Apart from The Beatles "Rain" should be played at the 12th fret. Quote
