kevvo66 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Hiya people, after the band I was in had a dreadful gig at the ipo 2014 at the cavern gig mainly due too our useless lead guitarist I've decided this band work better as a trio then he came along and balls it all up with his dreadful playing and stupid song ideas so after last Saturdays sh*tty rehearsal again. I've decided enough is a enough and have spoken to the singer and decided too walk, even pulling out of a gig on Sunday .I'm thinking of starting out again but the problem being where too look for. New band members really, been on join my band not really found anything on there any ideas please.cheers kev Quote
discreet Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Got a couple of good results from here. You can filter by area and so on. http://www.starnow.co.uk/ Quote
Lozz196 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Go to local gigs, get chatting to bands you like. You never know if the bassist is a dep who is just helping out, and the band are waiting on a permanent low-ender. Also local open-mic nights, and rehearsal studios are worth checking out, as are recording studios if you know the people who work there. They often kow of bands looking for people. Quote

If there's a band that makes you think 'I'd like to be up there with that lot', go away and learn their set list. Make friends with them, and who knows what might happen. Quote
KevB Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Hope you sorted out a dep for Sunday, otherwise poor form walking out at short notice if no one can do the gig with them no matter how sh*t you think they are. Quote
Les Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Understand your frustration but got to agree with KevB, not good form to bin at this notice, PartySounds is worth a look at. Quote
kevvo66 Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 Sorry guys should said the singer pulled a favour in got temp bass player who will only do it as a one off as his repetition as serious bass player could be under threat!!! Quote
