Telebass
I've just noticed sonething odd and mildly unsettling about the VM77 neck I just put on my Precision. It has a first fret side dot. Now I've seen it, it cannot be unseen, as it were... Weird...
gary mac
Oh my word............burn it at once, it doesn't deserve to be on your bass.

flyfisher
Are you sure it's not a spot of blood from a murky past it can't shake off? "Out, damn'd spot! out, I say!—One; two: why, then 'tis time to do't.—Hell is murky."

Telebass
Don't know if the VM 70s have them also... I may have to blank it out, it's bugging me!
skej21
My Geddy Lee jazz bass also has a first fret side dot so it's not just the squiers. I thought all basses that have a block first fret inlay also had a first fret side dot to match? I didn't realise that was uncommon... Maude
I just checked all the basses I have at home and the only one to have a first fret dot is the VM Bass vi. It must be a VM thang. Only time will tell if it will bug me ................ now you've bleedin' pointed it out!
Telebass
The other blocks/binding necks I have or have had didn't have them, but if the Geddy has them, maybe someone somewhere took a more general decision to start including them. humapuma
Just to disturb you even further, when you think about it don't you think it's a bit odd that there's a block in fret one anyway? (runs away, laughing manically) (I suffer as well from this general issue as I got me a VM Jazz)
Telebass
Ah well, I manned up and totally ignored that irritating dot at yesterday's gig. Result!
