Good point. I didn't spot that in my appreciation of the general aesthetic beauty of the whole thing. Quote
winterfire666 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) i know they are pretty much seen as a standard headstock but i really think they are ugly as sin (all fender headstocks) at least a lot of the others on this thread are thinking outside the box. stingrayPete1977 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014
I've had G&L's with no problem from the head design. I thought it was a final mark of Mr. Fender.
It was only put there for legal reasons though, Leo still had his fingers in the Musicman pie at the time too Quote
neepheid Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 So much animosity directed at a wee funny shaped bit of wood which never did anyone any harm. For shame. Quote
The Fender 4-a-side headstock was just a progression of their 6-a-side guitar headstock which was "borrowed" from Paul Bigsby who "borrowed" it from CF Martin, who "borrowed" it from any number of German luthiers before them. Nothing really new at all. Edited July 14, 2014 by BigRedX Quote

Roland Rock Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015
A picture paints a thousand words .... The bass with this monstrosity is on sale for a mere £700 on the bay. I think there's going to be a bidding war. PlungerModerno Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) OK - I'll bite: The VOX headstock makes me queasy. I also find the Fodera Headstock on page [s]1[/s] 2 pretty awful. The B string is just placed in an absurd position. my 2c. Edited March 18, 2015 by PlungerModerno Quote
brensabre79 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I am always surprised at how many luthiers / manufacturers seem to punctuate a realy nice looking instrument with such a fugly headstock... Lindert gets a definite thumbs down from me. This one is just hideous.... But the worst of them all has to be this one: I'll get my coat Quote
