miles'tone
DR DDT 115-55 are perfect. Made for the job.
thodrik
I've used the DR DDTs 115-55, which I thought were pretty good but really expensive. I found the 55 gauge 'F' string and 75 gauge high 'C' on the DRs to be pretty tight, while the 115 low C was pretty damn loose, although perfectly usable. I have been using the D'addario balanced tension 120-50 set. They are pretty much half the price of the DRs and are way more balanced from string to string. Thanks, I must look into those myself.
BigRedX
Do you mean Drop C tuning (C A D G) or standard C tuning (C F Bb Eb)? Depends on the bass and how you play, but I wouldn't use anything less than 120 for the C.
chrismuzz
I've got a bass tuned to C# standard with DR DDTs and 115 is perfect. They hold their tension better than other strings of the same gauge when tuning down. Expensive but worth a try!
JazzBassfreak
Optima Gold's very clear C *agreeing with John Entwistle's comment.
