Took delivery of this today from BassDirect.

I can not believe the weight of this, it's the lightest bass I've ever had in my possession. It's 8lbs exactly. Sounds absolutely killer and the neck is lovely. Bubinga top, alder body, wenge fingerboard. Absolute cracker, very happy to add this to my collection!

Lovely - I want a Dingwall 5!! What's the B-string like?
I've played one or two of GW's Dingwalls and the B strings were very good.

B string is killer. Soooo much better than other 5's I've played in the past. The clarity of the open note is unbelievable!

I feared as much! So if I'm to add a fiver to my arsenal it's going to have to be a Dingwall.
Ah well, so long as I know... enjoy your new baby! :)

It'd have to be! I can't afford to be a Dingwall collector! :)

Enjoy it mate, I love my ABII, and they are remarkably light. Usually I hate lightweight basses as for tone is too often sacrificed, however Dingers are the exception :D
