4STRINGER Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) Hi all, With much regret I've decided to put up for sale my 'Geddy Lee' Jazz bass. This bass hasn't had much use and after bringing back from Canada a bass I had in storage it's time to move one on. This has only been at band practice a couple of times and never gigged. Really in fantastic condition, some very faint scratches to the back of the body that wouldn't show up in a photo and slight wear to the pickguard below the G string but otherwise this bass is in 'mint' condition. Comes with original Fender gig bag. Unfortunately I won't post this bass so it is only for collection in Chiswick, West London. Price is £600 Edited September 27, 2014 by 4STRINGER
adamlunt Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Sweet Jazz! Been looking for a Japanese one for a while. Any trades?
4STRINGER Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 Sorry no trades on this one. Saving up for a Ken Smith so this will help to fund one.
Thunderbird Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 May be worth sending spongebob a PM I think he is looking for one of these
4STRINGER Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 Had pm'd spongebob before placing this post but he was looking for one as a backup so price was a priority over condition. Thanks for the input though.
4STRINGER Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 Sorry no shipping on this one. Thanks for your interest though.
spongebob Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014
May be worth sending spongebob a PM I think he is looking for one of these
Thanks TB! 4stringer did PM as he mentioned, but I was just after a backup to string differently! Just ordered some pickups now so I'm out of the market! Good price and great basses, and this one looks fantastic. Have a free bump on me - GLWTS.
flippyfloop Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Do you know the weight ? I think the Japan model is heavy ?
4STRINGER Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 The weight is 4.3kg or 9.4lbs. Because it's balanced quite nicely it's actually one of the lightest basses I've owned. Certainly not a neck-dive monster like my Alembic.
4STRINGER Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 The best Rush album that Geddy never played his famous Jazz Bass on? 'Hemispheres' of course! Oh yeah, BUMP.
odysseus Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Bloody good basses, these. I bought one from one of the on guys here a few months back. I use that as my standard bass for the rock n roll band I'm in. I keep my stingrays for the funk rock stuff.
4STRINGER Posted September 4, 2014 Author Posted September 4, 2014 Back from holidays 'BUMP'. Still looking for a new home for this gorgeous bass.
4STRINGER Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 BUMP...now posted on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181530634304?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
dmccombe7 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Great bass. This is my goto bass for almost everything. Can't really fault it. Hope it sells soon. Dave
Sean Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 So is it a Geddy Lee or just a Geddy lookalike? Those quotation marks are a bit misleading.
4STRINGER Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 It is a real Fender Geddy Lee. No cheap imitations for me. That was just me being anal with my grammar.
Nostromo Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Hi 4STRINGER, Great Bass, good to meet and do business. Hope you didn't have to pull that emengency stop chord ??? . . . . Seriously, what a wonderful bass the Geddy Lee is and in such fantastic condition. I count myself very lucky that I wasn't beaten to it by a fellow basschat'er ! Rock on, Cheers and thanks,
4STRINGER Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 Cheers Nostromo! It was great doing business and yeah I didn't have to use the emergency brake cord! I'm pleased you like the bass. As always it's sad to see a bass go but at least she's going to a good home. All the best to you!!!
