Polar Lo-Fi Sponge and UnTune - unique WTF pedals

These pedals seem to do the impossible!

The Lo-Fi Sponge can supposedly turn a distorted, delayed, reverbed signal back to dry again. The idea being you can put it at the end of your chain and quickly go back to clean at any time (why not just use a bypass loop?):

The UnTune on the other hand, has vocal presets to morph your voice into Bob Dylan our Michael Buble!

just two things sum up what im thinking about this pedal: How? Why?
I would be tempted to put an order in just to see what the heck this pedal did, if it wast due in feb next year.

why would a vocal pedal have jack connections instead of XLR?
and isnt this just an octave effect?

However, I found these browsing the online store - not usual for an April fool to still be hanging around in the shop catalog 3 months later! Might have to post these on Talkbass to wind those yanks up!
