lancer
Hi Guys I played one in my local music store today. It felt and played really good. I must say I don't know too much about them. It was up for £400, in pretty good condition. My question, is this a pretty good price? Cheers
Dazed
Sounds about the going rate for a USA SUB, usually see them a bit higher priced than that for a 5.

mcnach
That's a very reasonable price for a SUB5 in decent condition. The USA SUBs are true Stingrays, just with ugly clothing Great great basses. I would not go for any other "clone" no matter how pretty.

bassmachine2112
Hiho,Great basses, got a 4 string in 03 when they come out.still use it and gig it. I ,ve played a lot of rays including classic and it,s a real ray alright. Enjoy
donkelley
outstanding axes... I own two, both 5s, a fretted and a fretless. Even though my main is now an 05 warwick streamer jazzman lx-5 (whoa I love this thing - turns out thick D necks feel better for me and are way easier for fast playing for me), the subs sound amazing and are more touch controllable for tone than most other basses I've owned, while recording straight to the desk and sounding like a final recording.
I had a SR5 and a few years latter got my hands on a Japanese ATK305 so i have to say that you should consider changing your mind about this EDIT: currently don't own any of those because of the same issue - they're heavy as hell!!! - but the ATK had the SR vibe, only... more! patrikmarky
Yep , I love atk's ,I had a 405 and sold it ..biggest regret ever ...perfect neck for me , though I did purchase one of the new atk800 .. And not a touch on the old one's ..would snap another up like a shot but there like hens teeth"
The Atk305 of Ghost Bass Its in my hands now. What a bass About its voice and sound defenetly is a war machine with that growl and presence, and( to me) it has more punch than a SR. The sound and tone is all there, with an alternative design. Its a fact about the weight (around 10/11 lb). And it sound so so huge and powerful with my GB streamliner thanks to the valve pre amp. If you find some, don't turn around. Try it, believe me Edited November 6, 2014 by Markolinni

Black Coffee
My first ray was one of these and I still remember it sounding better than the real ray I got later. Thinner neck on the ray is more my thing though, enjoy.
