I bought it in the mid 90s as part of a job lot - ten albums for £5 and I only wanted one of them (not the Lake one) so I picked 9 random albums. Shortly after I ditched the record player and stopped listening to vinyl. Earlier this year I set it back up and dug all the old records out. The Lake album was still sealed so I thought I'd give it a spin. Still listening to it now. It's great isn't it?! If they'd been American they'd have been huge! Check out the 2nd & 3rd albums..... and the 4th one has great moments too.... Quote
steantval Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Stop, the Joe Bonamassa version, a lot. The next new song to go into our set, nailed it and ready to rehearse it Thursday evening👍 Quote

It was on my 'to buy' list when I was 16 but I never got it - I finally picked up a copy. You can't see it in the link - it's the London RnB Sessions album recorded live at the Hope & Anchor. I love this album! I've lost my copy unfortunately, but The Pirates and The Bishops are excellent. Quote

Yes I agree But at the moment my favourite track is the third Now that you've gone - the brass parts are just so fantastic and super forceful/in your face especially at loud volumes. Wonderful Bit sentimental for, I listened to Chicago in late 6o's/early 70's but only stayed for the first three CDs. I then was totally absorbed in Peter Gabriel's Genesis so it's only in the last week or so that I've heard Chicago V. Although it was realeased in 1972 I am now listening to it and some of the subsequent CDs for the first time So 46 years after it was released - bit late to the party! 1 Quote

Frank Blank Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I forget occasionally just how uniquely good 10cc were, but I’m rewatching the BBC4 documentary just to remind myself... 4 Quote

Barking Spiders Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) I can't get enough of Solar Fields at the mo and have been going through his back catalogue and this afternoon I have this on while I've been repainting my 11 year old's bedroom. Well recommended if you like atmospheric electronica Edited October 14, 2018 by Barking Spiders Quote
Digestive10 Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Finally got around to watching/ hearing Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs concert film I Sky+'d several moons ago. I took 2 things away from it: Carl Radle was a great purveyor of tone and taste In 1970, I'd have signed away Lennon & McCartney's royalties for a go on Rita Coolidge Quote
