ezbass Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 The Cardinal Black EP (I really like these guys) and John Mayer’s most recent release, Sob Rock (not his best, not his worst, no bad at all). Quote
Old Man Riva Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 Perhaps an acquired taste, and certainly not to everyone’s, but a band where the rhythm section is destined to never fall out..! 1 Quote

Barking Spiders Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I keep coming back to Sigrid's 'Sucker Punch' album which I play obsessively. No need for autocue, an orange face and eyelashes like spiders legs Not 1 Quote

Thanks for that - infinitely better than "F---orget you". Now I'm off down a rabbit hole of "Live From Daryl's House" episodes. He's played with some great and varied musicians! KevL Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 (edited) Picked up a a copy of this at the weekend I used to go in The Grapes, Derek Holt's pub in Stafford and he used to play at the jam nights and he had some good groups on other nights. Great memorabilia in the pub, too, such as old concert posters. Haven't been in for years, I imagine it isn't the same now. Good times. Edited August 16, 2021 by KevL Quote

Bobthedog Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 This probably will not appeal to too many bass players, on account of there not being one but am currently listening to this (I have a Roland MC-101 for fun and travel - Rachel uses an MC-707 fairly frequently): Quote
Reggaebass Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Cruising through barking listening to Lee Perry, nice bassline 1 Quote

Doctor J Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Cynic - Kindly Bent to Free Us Massively overlooked, in my opinion. It's no Traced In Air, no, but still quite wonderful. It's horrible to think two of the three of them are dead now, such rarely gifted musicians. 1 Quote
