Richard R
Luke Jackson is supporting Fairport on their current tour (sadly interrupted for a week as they have covid in the tour party). This is the tale of a young Canterbury farmer offering the object of his affection a lift home.

Barking Spiders
this morning, as I work it's Wire's 154 album. IMO there are few bands who made such a cracking run of first three albums. Fave track from 154 is ..

NancyJohnson
Porcupine Tree. While there's no doubting the talent on show, there's just something about Steven Wilson that I just find difficult to connect with, he always comes across as so earnest and nice. On the times I've dipped in, I always felt his voice didn't suit the heavier passages. I love his non-contributary work (for instance, the 5.1 XTC/Tears For Fears reissues). Perhaps there's just too much back catalogue to wade through (I've finished In Absentia and I'm deep in Deadwing territory), maybe I should just create a playlist of everything and just put them on shuffle rather than focusing on things on an album by album basis. Stub Mandrel
On original 1968 vinyl (stereo version!) Leo Lyons is an utterly underrated monster bass player. You could take his solos off this and drop them into a Danny Thompson jazz blues and no-one would notice.

Baloney Balderdash
From the, in my opinion, best album Will Oldham (Palace Brothers, Palace Music, Bonnie "Prince" Billy) ever have released, "Viva Last Blues", from 1995 : Edited February 18, 2022 by Baloney Balderdash
Old Man Riva
The Pretenders debut album. I was (still am) a big fan of Pete Farndon’s playing on this record - nothing too fussy, but drove the tracks along perfectly. He also looked cool as… James Honeyman-Scott was such an underrated guitarist. Anyway, here’s the opening track (over 40yrs old and still sounds great!)…
