Graham Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 (edited) Holiday listening day 2, didn't get to as much as was packing and actually getting away with my wife, and more importantly, without the children. Even if you’re not a fan of the particular tracks the insight from the musicians is really interesting (at least I thought it was!)… 1 Quote

Old Man Riva Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Inspired by Barking Spiders above I’ve been re-listening to Dare-era Human League. This was originally the B-side to Love Action. It used to get played in clubs at the time and sounded great up loud - meaty, beaty, big and bouncy! 1 Quote
Baloney Balderdash Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 The original : And the very different, but just as awesome cover : Quote

NancyJohnson Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 I'm going to leave it to you to search Spotify, but have spent the morning listening to indie pop/rock; a combination of The Beths (from Auckland, New Zealand) and Momma (Los Angeles). Momma are easy, if you like Veruca Salt or The Breeders, there's your new fix. The Beths are just plain fun, they are just a collision of lots of different bands (Snail Mail, Bully, Vedera come to mind, especially Vedera). Quote
BreadBin Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 I saw these guys in my favourite pub at the weekend. Really bloody good! Quote
Barking Spiders Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 (edited) This morning as I work I've had the excellent new album from Moderat on repeat. Quality stuff IMO. Non-dance electronica sort of Massive Attack...ish. I don't like the term IDM as I like what some might call 'unintelligent' dance music. Edited June 7, 2022 by Barking Spiders 1 Quote

Barking Spiders Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Today dusted off my copy of Exile on Coldharbour Lane, the first and best album by Alabama 3, from Brixton. Excellent from start to finish. Best known track is 'Woke up this morning' used as the theme tune to the Sopranos... And here's another fave 1 Quote
