I do like a bit of the brothers, partly because Louis is my fave player. As I work I've been flipping between the Pasadenas first album and Hearsay by Alexander O'Neal, so here's a bit of both.. BTW why The Pasadenas never gained the popularity of Take That, Boyzone etc boggles my mind. They had better vocals and sharper moves. Incidentally, check out the great bassline on Something Else, the last track on the debut album, with Julian Crampton totally slaying it! Quote
Rich Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 This perfect, perfect song. Opening track from session legend and nicest guy in the world Mo Foster's solo album Bel Assis, with the incomparable and much missed Gary Moore on guitar and the godlike Simon Phillips on drums. So beautiful it puts a lump in my throat. 2 1 Quote

NancyJohnson Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I just fancied listening to The Darkness. I don't know whether the first album was ahead of it's time; it's certainly not as bad as I remember it. As I type, I'm just reaching the last couple of bars of the first album. Next up, The Sweet. Both have worked with Prince at some time in the past - coincidence or not? According to Mononeon it makes it easier to do bends on the high string. Quote

This is a valid point! I assumed maybe it was that he started playing on a right handed bass that was strung normally? Quote

Grimalkin Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 "When the pain will vanish, will you make it home Our days were squandered, our days were sunk Attenders of madness, fell from great heights Today's darkest cloud, was yesterday's light We must've spiralled out of control Suffer and glory, rage in my skull All we've become, to make it seem right Today's darkest cloud, was yesterday's light..." Ricky 4000 Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 I'm certainly not 'into' bluegrass, but I happened to hear this, and I love it! Quote
