When I was pre-teen, I was a bit obsessed with The Sweet.  Fond memories of getting a Sanyo cassette recorder for Christmas and a copy of Sweet F*nny Adams on cassette.  A year or so later I was given a  copy of Desolation Boulevard on my birthday.

These two albums, along with the clutch of non-album singles/b-sides will forever hold a place in my heart.

I've had these two albums (and singles) on rotation for about a week.  They're 50 blumming years old.  The production is a tad dated, but man alive, they're both fantastic albums.

The new (out today) album from Peter Bruntnell, Houdini And The Sucker Punch

https://peterbruntnell.bandcamp.com/album/houdini-and-the-sucker-punch-3

Pete is a quality songwriter who I have shared a bill with on several occasions over the last thirty years and his bass player, Peter Noone (not that one) welds his Precision with very good taste

Third time round today and none of the shine has worn off 👍

Currently spinning Bux - We Come To Play.

Who, you say?

Bux featured Ralph Morman on vocals (better known for fronting an early iteration of The Joe Perry Project and Savoy Brown), plus Punky Meadows and Mickie Jones from Angel.

Good old rock.

A boring MS Teams call....

These are when I do my design work in Fusion 360. I've developed the ability to track the call mentally in the background and to anticipate when I need to speak.

@Richard R

Thats such a generous offer.

I'll certainly swap my two, almost but not quite feral, cats who are at this point in time doing their best to decimate the mice, rat, and bird population of the village. The cats have no fear of anything and so rabbits and pheasants are also their targets. Its such a joy when they try to bring in a butchered and half eaten rabbit through the cat flap. I have a strong stomach, but not that strong. The only reason there are no foxes is that every fox, as far as I know, has emigrated to the local towns and cities as it's easy food there and because my two ninja cats aren't there. The cats also smell really badly and love dribbling on you at 04:30 in the morning if they can get in the bedroom and the dog hasn't noticed them. The dog classes the bedroom as his turf and tries to chase them out.

They also throw up anywhere they can, and their litter tray and the 100,000 acres of Yorkshire Dales literally outside the door,is ignored if they can find a corner of the house to poop in.

The vet bills are enormous as well.

So I accept your offer to swap cats. I'll be there in around 15 mins.

Thanks

Rob

Lola Young's album This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway.

Spotify suggested her song Messy to me a few weeks ago and it was one of those rare moments where something new just grabs you instantly. Fantastic voice and I love the fact that lyrically and musically she consistently subverts my expectations. And her bassist plays an Anaconda, so at least 10 extra basschat points.

Currently enjoying the f**k out of this 🙌🏻, I love UFO and I love Michael Schenker.  Nice Guy Rich is happy 😃

I'd say UFO's Strangers In The Night is one of my favourite albums and I was a fan of the early MSG stuff (including the live album); saw this album was out and gave it a listen.

For sure this album is a rocking affair, but I just can't reconcile the rotating vocalist choices; I just hear the songs in my head with Mogg singing and can't get past that.  I doubt whether I'll give it a second listen.

From our very own @mcnach I beleive?

oh, indeed! :)

Blast from the past, that's an 'album' we made for Spotify with bits from 3-4 albums in order to have some presence. I hope you didn't hate it!

One of my favourites there is an instrumental... and amusingly it got an "E" for Explicit label due to a silly intro :D
